The good practise is to have the ears and eyes in the port of loading/unloading to have an assurance, that the load has arrived or been loaded in acceptable condition and one will not pay for the additional operations.

Condition survey:
- for the adoption of ships for insurance;
- inspection of technical condition of the vessel, hull and machinery (H&M - hull and machinery survey);
- survey inspection of the vessels with third party liability insurance of the shipowner (P&I - Protection and Indemnity) – in the scope of the P&I survey, condition survey.

There are three governmentally approved laboratories:

1) laboratory of physical and mechanical tests (Novorossiysk)
2) laboratory of physical and mechanical tests (Tuapse)
3) X-ray control LAB
